Over on the Brooklynian forums, a Fort Greene resident reports an alluring smell of fresh bread near the Clinton/Washington C train. The post made some other residents jealous and there were competing theories: one poster said it was from a new bakery on Vanderbilt. Another claimed the smell has been around for 8 years and that it might be from a defunct cookie factory. Do factories still emit smells when they’re defunct? (And is there a new bakery on Vanderbilt, for that matter?) Whatever the reason, it seems from this thread that realtors would do well to promote this kind of smell to prospective buyers.
