So the space that used to be a Citibank mortgage center on Lafayette and Fulton is set to become a Connecticut Muffin — a new place in the hood to get coffee, though perhaps not a great one, according to the comments in our recent survey. I snapped this on the way to work this morning so didn’t have time to look more closely. Anyone know when it’s slated to open?
General Nathaniel Greene, our namesake. Read more about him
They’ve done so well over on Myrtle this isn’t surprising. It’s all about opening times. The CT opens by 7 at the latest whereas other places near it sometimes don’t start up until 8:30. Sort of the world’s smallest niche market.
La Bagel Delight, just a block up on Lafayette, is open at 6AM, the staff is always delightful, and the food is decent.
anyone know what will be going in to the hardware store on s. oxford and fulton? i’m dying to know.
I heard a rumor that A Cook’s Companion was going to open a shop there.
Connecticut Muffin is a good chain, and the chocolate macadamia coffee is very tasty. You can only hope the staff is as nice as the staff they have on Myrtle.
re: hardware store
Please god, how ’bout another hardware store? If we get another small (read expensive) grocery store, I will flip out…
I heard months ago that a Starbucks was trying to secure that location but not sure if that is still the case. A Cooks Companion has good stock but their prices are kind of high.
I asked the guys working on the renovation for the hardware store and they said a restaurant was opening up.
Another restaurant….good grief! How about a meat or fish market.
Next to CT muffin is going to be a nail salon as well. Just hope they offer those 10 minute massages cause I don’t really worry about my cuticles all that much.
The Connecticut Muffin on Myrtle makes an awesome egg’n'cheese on a bagel. They actually cook the eggs in the milk frother! The first time I saw it my jaw dropped. “What is this person doing???” But then I tasted it and it was awesome. Since then I always try to get one on the weekend if I’m up early enough, but since I always wake up late I end up going to Bagel World on Dekalb.
CT Muffin at lafayette will be open this weekend and i am super excited! the coffee is quite tasty and the store is cozy & sleek.
a must stop for coffee in ft. greene!!!
there is a fish market and meat market on Fulton. Where have you been?
You can also get amazing fish and meat at the farmer’s market on Saturday mornings.
I am a Saints fan from Argentina. Very nice Saints information. I think Bress will be an eventual hall-of-famer with Colston and Bush.
I hope to be in New Orleans for a game this fall.
