
It’s hard not to read something bigger into the sign posted on the antique store on Fulton Street. My Little India is clearing out its stock to make way for a new business by the end of the month, according to the store worker (we’re not sure which month she meant). You may recall a car slammed into this corner last year, but we’re not sure if that has anything do with this move. Wonder what’s set to move in.

The owner told me her rent was going up to $7,000/month! They are looking to find new space here or near here. I hope it’s not a chase to raise rents so high that our small independent owners need to leave…

Somehow that looks tragically like a perfect location for a Starbucks. I hope it doesn’t happen but I wouldn’t be surprised.
